Baltimore Orioles used to nest in the northern end of Calvert. I think Arlene Ripley confirmed them there during the second atlas. During the SMAS birdathon, we used to find them either at the end of Lower Marlboro Road by the fishing pier or at the golf course/driving range. Perhaps they are still hanging on at Smoky Road which is just slightly south of Lower Marlboro?

I forgot to mention that we also heard a Baltimore Oriole at Smoky Road yesterday afternoon. This species was last reported at this location on April 29, 2011 by Brighton & Satchell, 365 days previously (leap year).
