While driving back to our home near U Street in DC, we passed a large school yard field (New Hampshire Ave & S. St. NW) with a bunch of agitated birds.  The next thing I knew a Peregrine Falcon flew about 10 feet over the car after 
completing a stoop - apparently hunting in a the open school yard. Seemed large, pale underparts, a black hood 
and yellow eye-ring standing out to help with the ID.
