Hi All,

In spite of the great temptation to head to the forests of Rock Creek park, I decided to make sure not the River and Hains Point were not being negelected by the birding community.  I was surprised by a number of late migrating waterbirds including a stunning Horned Grebe, drab female Red-breasted Merganser, a pair of Great Black-backed Gulls and a fair number of Loons.  The Constitution Garden pond was still mostly drained, but I was told it will be refilled today in order to save the large mouth  bass...  Not many shorebirds there, but there was a small group of 6 Least Sandpipers.
