May count is May 12, a week from Saturday. I hope you can help this year. I have heard from some that plan to help, and thanks for getting in touch. The ones I have heard from plan on doing their usual sections. I don’t have any ringers this year to help so there is plenty of areas to fill in. If you know of some that could help please point them in my direction. All levels of skills are appreciated.
IF you want to help please contact me unless you have already been in touch. You could also do a feeder or yard watch. Attached is the field card form you will need to collect your data on. I still need to get you a verification form I will send out a verification form later. The species that require verification have an asterisk next to the name on the field card. For example if you find a White-winged Scoter, you need to provide details. Photos are very helpful for verification species but written descriptions will suffice.
Also attached is the form I would prefer to get the results on. It is an Excel form from which I can drop the sector or feeder/yard watch data into the summary data sheet. This method will allow me to tabulate the summary and get the results back to you sooner.
Remember I am coordinating only Charles County. If you are interested in counting in St. Mary’s, P.G., or Calvert contact those coordinators. Patty Craig is St. Mary’s and Sue Hamilton is Calvert. All of us need help.
