Hi all,

A bit of a late start due to our oldest dog's illness, but we went up to the Pine Lake area of Wheaton Regional Park and found a few nice migrants. Best was a singing male PROTHONOTARY WARBLER along the lake, the first for us at this site and also, one of a handful of this species we've ever seen on migration. A VEERY at a fruiting shadbush was a FOS, as was a heard-only WOOD-PEWEE. Eleven species of warbler were seen. Otherwise, pretty much the expected birds -- though a large increase in singing Ovenbirds, Red-eyed Vireos and Baltimore Orioles since last visit. Wish we had gotten there early as things shut down quickly as the day warmed.
