A quick stroll around the east end of the Mall produced these highlights:
   National Museum of the American Indian:
   A Green Heron in the reedbed of the big pond

   National Botanic Garden
   A male Yellow Warbler
   A male Common Yellowthroat
  Also a territorial Gray Catbird and a newly fledged Mourning Dove

Both places:  lots of calling Red-winged blackbirds, also Common grackles, Song sparrows and cardinals.
