It was nice to be back in the park after a week-long absence due to my strep fun. Highlight was a LINCOLN'S SPARROW (thanks Bonnie for the insight and inspiration). I didn't have to try very hard... Just be patient. The bird popped up out of a puddle near the entrance gate. I only needed for it to dry off a bit to confirm it. It was buried in a hedge, but I could make out all the right details. I find this bird to be very hard to find in the spring down here on the coastal plain.

Other highlights: two NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, a spontaneously-vocal Screech (I wasn't whistling or playing any tape, just being...), and the welcome vocals of The Eastern Wood Pewee, Wood Thush and Acadian Flycatcher. Lastly, I've always heard from the rangers about the Barred Owls that live in the park. Well, after umpteen hundred visits, I finally saw two of them.
