Bob,
Sorry for late reply, as I only checked my email around noon this
morning. I was approximately 1/2 way walking down the stream (in
cw direction) when a bird popped up in some scrubby brush at the
edge of the stream. I had only a momentary look before it flew down below my
line of sight; however, I had a clear look and was
confident of my ID. The bird was facing me and had a completely
dark head and prominent, complete white eye rings. The throat and upper
breast were concolorous with the head, a dark gray. The
remaining underside was yellow. The back and wings were a dark olive. There
were no wing bars. I couldn't see the legs or tail. I have observed the
Connecticut and its lookalikes, Mourning and Nashville, as recently as last
spring at Magee Marsh and am comfortable with my ID.

Paul,
Could you give us complete details on the Connecticut Warbler please? As
you can see from the Yellow Book it is one of the rarest birds in spring
migration. Thank you.
