At about 9:45 this morning I was driving west on Rt. 50  approaching Kent Narrows when I saw 6 large white and black birds flying on the North side of the road.  They were over the water, but not way up high.  My first instinct was gannets, which didn't make sense given the season and my second instinct was Black-backed Gulls (which I often try to make in to gannets), but it just didn't seem right so I took the next exit which was the one for the Holiday Inn Express where the Tufted Duck was a few years back.  I couldn't see the birds from the Holiday Inn parking lot so I turned back onto the access road (which google tells me is Kent Narrows Road).  I couldn't see the birds again until I was almost back at 50 and I just pulled over and threw on the hazards since there isn't really a shoulder.  It was 6 American White Pelicans.  They were, as I said, on the north side of 50 over the small gut that is on the east side of the Holiday Inn.  Since
they were flying pretty low and circling it seems like they might land and hang out somewhere in the area.

Bill Hubick says this is a good sighting.  I wasn't sure or I would have posted sooner.
