Hi all,

I birded Turkey Point at Elk Neck State Park this morning. Warbler activity was nonexistent (I heard one Redstart, that was it), but I did find a Black-billed Cuckoo at the west end of the edge of the cliff at the point, right where the trail takes off into the woods. The bird wasn't vocalizing at all. He flushed from a tree along the edge of the cliff and flew up into another tree just inside the edge of the woods. I had time to click off one documentation shot and the bird took off into the surrounding trees. I couldn't relocate him, but he's probably hanging around close by. This was at 8:27 AM. Here's the link to the photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27381338@N03/7190306414/in/photostream . The only other semi-interesting bird was a male Blue Grossbeak, singing in the scrubby area to the left of the trail as it opens into the first big grassy field.

Happy Mother's Day!
