The Hood/Hafner Mourning Warbler sang for the entire time I was there, 7:15-9:15. About an hour after I arrived, about 70 feet away, beyond a hedge of brambles and at the end of a tiny narrow corridor of tangles and brush, the Mourning took a perch in sunlight about a foot off the ground for approximately 30 seconds, affording a magnificent view: my second Mourning in 4 years in MD and the first with a good look. I was lucky.

A birder named Dave Kovlovskow (sorry, I know I got the last name wrong!) was with me during the challenging search, and he got some decent glimpses. Two other birders, Mark Johnson and Tim Carney, were around some of that time and got good earfuls of singing.
