I have one more record to add. On May 23, 1972 I banded two female
Northern (now red-necked) Phalaropes in a floodpond on the old turf fields
of
McKee-Beshers WMA.

Jim,
To fill in the Montgomery County history of Red-necked Phalaropes, in my
database this is the 11th county record but only the second in spring; the
first was May 11, 1997 at Great Falls. The other records range from August
30 to October 5. The first was October 3, 1956 at Pennyfield and the most
recent was September 2, 2006 at Violettes Lock. The most reported was an
uncertain number up to 15 at Little Falls on September 9, 2004. All are
from locations along the Potomac River including Summit Hall Turf Farm.

This is only the third county eBird record, the first since 2006, and
the only one not in September.
