Prettyboy reservoir study area on 05/27/12 

I am listing the birds I heard in each section of the study area and a little before and after the study area.

First starting down the fireroad I heard and saw

Ovenbirds
Carolina Chickadees
Tufted Titmouse
Ovenbirds


Edge of the thinned area


Red Eyed Vireo
Catbirds
Cardinals
Titmouse
Eastern Towhee


The actual thinned Pine tree area

Pine Warbler
Red-eyed Vireo
Scarlet Tanager
Great crested Flycatcher

The thinned Hardwood area 

Red-eyed Vireo
Scarlet Tanager
Ovenbird



Edge of the Clear cut area
Great-crested Flycatcher
Ovenbirds....both before and after the clear cut area
Indigo Bunting
Cardinals
American Crows
Great Crested Flycatcher
Scarlet Tanager
Titmouse
Carolina Chickadee
Ovenbirds
Eastern Phoebe
EasternWood Pewee.....edge going past the clear area
Northern Parula



Clear cut area
Yellow-Bellied Flycatchers..two chasing each other
Eastern Kingbirds ..two chasing each other around
Chipping sparrows
Cedar Waxwing ...flying over
American Goldfinches flying over
Bald Eagle..flying over
Juvenile Bald Eagle...flying over
Turkey Vultures
House Wren
Black Vultures..both vultures seem to be lifted off the trees just before the clear cut

My Prettyboy yard
I am hearing a lot of ovenbirds in the area around my yard
and lots of Northern Parulas

Lots of noise coming form the Great Blue heron nest.

Bluebirds
Catbirds
Cardinals
Bluejays
Cowbirds
Starlings
Titmouse
Chickadee
House Wren
Northern Parula
Chipping Sparrows
Pileated Woodpeckers.  Three seen across from my driveway in the woods.  Two sounding like juvies

It is hard to get a clear shot of the Pileated while it was constantly moving its head.
