Hi all,

I posted a while back about an unusual hawk I noticed (as it was dive-bombing me), that appeared to have traits of both Red-tailed and Red-shouldered and was paired with a typical looking Red-tailed and rearing two babies in a nest close to where the dive-bombing incident occurred. I didn't see the nest until after I ducked. I've since sent a bunch of photos to Cornell where they were scrutinized by Brian Sullivan and another of the heads of the eBird project who did arrive at the conclusion that the odd bird is a Red-tailed x Red-shouldered hybrid. I finally got a photo of the pair side by side and posted it here http://www.flickr.com/photos/27381338@N03/7251256410/ , along with a shot of the two fledgelings, who are now exploring the branches surrounding the nest, but haven't yet taken flight.

Have fun
