I arrived ~ 4:45 PM and the bird was heard almost immediately. It sang off and on for the entire 60 minutes or so that I stayed in the area. Great bird!

We all clearly heard the rail singing. It seemed to sing when the sun was obstructed by clouds, and stop when the sun was shining. I recommend parking on the opposite side of the road by Maxwelton Road "Farms of the River" entrance, not the landowners gravel driveway at the edge of the field. Th is is private land, so please be respectful. Do not enter the field to try to view this bird. It can easily be heard from the paved road. We wouldn't want to do anything that would anger the landowner.
