During my morning walk around Schoolhouse Pond, I had a male Blue-winged Teal feeding unobtrusively in the spatterdock at the rear of the pond. It seems somewhat late for BWTE here. I had most recently recorded a male BWTE here this spring on April 25 and May 14th. The highlight from yesterday morning's walk (May 29) was finding an Eastern Kingbird nest (with attendant kingbird) high in a sycamore overhanging the pond. I had suspected them of nesting in this tree, but this is the first time I had seen the nest.
