Sunday I spent the day searching for breeding birds throughout the county. Was hoping to pick up some warblers that have become scarce. It was a lovely day to be out but did not find much in the way of highlights. We did find KENTUCKY WARBLERS at Hugg-Thomas but no Hooded. There was a song sung twice that was very Mourning- like but we could never see the bird and did not hear it again to verify or record.

There were nice Odonates in the marsh area of the woods and around the pond across from the parking lot. A dozen or so posted on flickr for any dragonfly enthusiasts. http://flic.kr/p/cbpWB5

There is also some Ebony Spleenwort growing on the old stone wall by the pond which was beautiful to see.

Went by to see the Alder again at the Conservancy...seems to be a very accommodating bird!
