Bob wanted to revisit and rephotograph some cooperative (immature) Wood Ducks along the canal north of the Weverton access, and I wanted to see if the White Ibis was still up in Cumberland, so we headed west after a late breakfast. The Wood Ducks were still there, as well as a nice Great Egret and a migrating Canada Warbler, all about 0.7 mi upstream of the Weverton access. Not much else except a couple of Spotted Sandpipers on the river.
The White Ibis continues on the canal near Mexico Farms Road SE, still hanging out with a Green Heron. Very cooperative and not very skittish.
North Branch had an incessantly-calling Yellow-billed Cuckoo (I'm not complaining, just stating the facts, ma'am), 1 Lesser and 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 2 Semipalmated Plovers, a Spotted Sandpiper, and lots of Killdeer.
At the Terminus in Cumberland, I found several Least Sandpiper (maybe 1 Semipalmated, but the light and distance didn't help me out), a Lesser Yellowlegs, and 5 female Common Mergansers. I thought I heard a Greater Yellowlegs (just one call), but didn't see it.
