In about the same place, South of Oland Rd. between Route 85 and New Design Rd., Gerry Hawkins and I found 3 Uppies today (8/26), moving together in the very short grass across the field from Oland Rd. Time was about 9:30 a.m. We also found 2 Eastern Meadowlarks and an American Kestrel in the same general area.
We had earlier stopped at the Hughes Rd. polo grounds in Montgomery County and found lots of Killdeer and Horned Larks, but no American Golden-plover. In fact, we stopped there once again later in the morning, with the same result (or lack of it).
Thanks to Mike Welch for posting his sighting of the Oland Rd. birds.
