This evening, I explored the area upstream of the Burnt Mills Dam on the Northwest Branch in Silver Spring, just west of Route 29. It was very quiet and birds were hard to find, but I was able to scrape up a few warblers (5 species, including a female Black-throated Blue) and a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher. A Barred Owl called several times further upstream.
