MD Birding, Yesterday on 8/29, 24 of us visited Poplar Island. The highlights were large numbers of Blue-winged Teals, Brown Pelican, American Golden Plover, Black-necked Stilts, American Avocet, Wilson's Phalarope, Red-necked Phalarope, a great showing by Black Terns. Most strangely were the unexpected passerines - Eastern Wood-Pewee, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Black-and-white Warbler, American Redstart, and Baltimore Oriole. The complete list is below. I have updated it with some photos by Jeff Culler and Bonnie Ott.
