Hi all,
Red crossbills are definitely on the move. I came across this link on the cape may bird observatory 'view from the field' blog last week http://cmboviewfromthefield.blogspot.com/2012/08/morning-flight-musings-red-crossbills.html You can also see from ebird maps a pretty amazing august push in the midwest and noteworthy sightings in the northeast.
