I mentioned this in a previous email but thought I'd send it out again. Having returned home and checked eBird, I found that Laughing Gull is a rarer bird in Montgomery County than I thought. Didn't want county listers to overlook this in the barrage of Sabine's Gull posts!

Jim,
Well my memory isn't what is used to be. However, after doing an Avisys search, I found I have a dozen records for my home in Ashton, going back to August 15, 1993. Most are actually from mid-late August, not September as I thought, though I did have a few records for Septemebr too. Almost all were flyover groupd of birds, in mid-afternoon. So not really terribly rare, it just takes some looking up at the right time and place. I would suspect they still flyover that area. My last record was for August 24, 2003. So 12 records over 10 years...
