Subject: [MDBirding] Harford County Dickcissel

Hi all,

I tried to post this earlier and it never showed up on the list, so try, try again. I went over to Swan Harbor Farm late this afternoon and spent the better part of a couple hours looking at sparrows and field birds in the new impoundments. Best bird was a Dickcissel-what I'd guess is a first winter female, based on Sibley's depiction-that flew up out of the brush and then perched a little farther out in the impoundment. The bird eventually dove back into the brush, so hopefully it'll still be there in the morning. This was at 6:11PM and it was already getting dark. The bird was seen from the path along the south edge of the impoundment closest to the model airplane field (near the tree line). The southwest corner would be a good place to start looking, facing north into the impoundment. Here's a link to my complete eBird list and a couple photos of the bird: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S11679494 .

Have fun out there
