As Wallace noted, I may have heard a Red Crossbill, but not well enough to
count it. As Jason and I were walking back to our cars by the Equitation
Field (c.7:30?), I heard a finch calling overhead. It sounded like a Red
Crossbill, but it was distant and I didn't hear it well enough to be sure.
That we were talking when I first heard it didn't help. It will go down
in the books as one that got away.
Otherwise it was a wonderful morning at Rock Creek Park, as Wallace
captured in his report. Jason and I also found 1, possibly 2 Indigo
Buntings in the Dog Run Area.
