Birding at McKeldin Area, Patapsco Valley State Park with Ruth Bergstrom and Tim Houghton mostly on the Switchback Trail. Small flocks of migrants were scattered throughout. Surprising was the number of Cape May Warblers, mostly along the North Branch with our only one on the South Branch the last bird of the hike at the parking lot on the Howard County side at Marriottsville. Migrants included:
Pewee 1, heard only Blue-headed Vireo 1 Red-eyed Vireo Blue Jay Red-breasted Nuthatch 1, heard only House Wren Ruby-crowned Kinglet - several Gray-cheeked Thrush 1 Swainson's Thrush - several Wood Thrush 2 Catbird Chipping Sparrow 3 Tennessee Warbler Cape May Warbler Magnolia Warbler Chestnut-sided Warbler Black-throated Blue Warbler Black-throated Green Warbler Scarlet Tanager 1
