Just to add to what Mike and Richard said, the park was extra-birdy after the fallout. I don't follow football, so while everyone else was inside watching the game, I was at the park and had it practically to myself. There were several Wood, Swainson's, and Hermit Thrushes along the pathways (not counting many others in the shrubs/trees). Warblers were consistent and sparrows were absolutely everywhere. I also had what I'm calling a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, which seems fairly late. Oddly enough, no Myrtle Warblers, Blue Jays, or Mourning Doves were to be seen, and the Flickers seemed somewhat secretive. I would assume the Merlin (well viewed) had something to do with this.
