Great surprise to see this big warbler: CHAT, so beautiful, a fall immature, near Sherwood bridge in brushy area of field on north side of and near the tree line that parallels the entrance road. My favorite birds (late morning, early afternoon):

Blue-headed Vireo 1
Brown Creeper 1
Winter Wren 1 (singing)
Golden-crowned Kinglet 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 35
NASHVILLE WARBLER 1 (close to chat, in tree line, low in willow in ditch)
Common Yellowthroat 6
Palm Warbler 2 (yellow)
Yellow-rumped Warbler 11
CHAT 1
White-crowned Sparrow 1 (immature)
Purple Finch 4 ( likely many more, in active groups, couldn't see them all)

I ran into a regular there, a birder named John (also a regular on the former Tuesday walks), and he saw much of what I got above plus, if I remember correctly: siskins, sapsucker, a Tennessee, and Black-Throated Green. Another birder had RB Nuthatch. John also had a CHAT not far from where I found mine, but his was nevertheless far enough away for me to think that it was likely a 2nd CHAT--wouldn't that be nice.
