After the SANDY, the woods will be full of snags (branches hung up in trees) just waiting to cause injuries to you and to your vehicle.� So watch where you park and when walking in the woods, LOOK UP constantly, which is good practice anyway.� Finally, report dangerous situations to the proper authorities so that they can in time be remedied.� In the aftermath of SANDY we may face numerous closed parks and trails too and volunteering assistance to overburdened FED, STATE, and LOCAL gov'ts would be welcomed.
Like Marcy, i monitor the a local�USGS river level station (USGS 01638500 POTOMAC RIVER AT POINT OF ROCKS, MD).� The river has been steady at 1.5 feet recently, but has risen to near 2.5 feet today.� Historic floods have reached levels above 40 feet.
