Welcome, Dean!

Since I put the feeders back (I had removed them during the storm, as
potential projectiles), I've had many Juncos in my front yard. For me
they signal the arrival of winter, and from the temps outside it feels
like they're right on time.

Yesterday I got swarmed by a huge flock of noisy grackles. They
descended on us like a flash mob, dotting the whole neighborhood with
black squawking shapes, scavenged what they could in about 15 minutes,
then took off. I spotted them later in the trees at the yacht club,
plotting their next attack.

First, I noticed lots of robins milling around in many of the neighboring yards and then spotted a junco feeding along with about 20 house sparrows in the yard across the street.
