Subject: [MDBirding] Connecticut Warbler! Gwynns Falls Trail, Baltimore City

Jim Wilkinson and I walked the Gywnns Falls Trail at lunch today and found
an adult male Connecticut Warbler! If anyone is interested in looking for
it, park at the trailhead on Washington Blvd and walk down the trail to the
bridge crossing the creek. It was on the right, just before the bridge.

We were looking at sparrows, when I heard a "zeep" warbler flight call
behind us. Being November, I called out "Blackpoll" because that is by far
the most likely warbler with that flight call type. Needless to say I was
shocked when I saw the bird sitting up in a tree, out in the open. I was
even more surprised that it was an adult male!

I would have even predicted a MacGillivray's over a Connecticut in November!

Good birding!
