Stopped by Sandy Point SP this morning from 730 to 830, enjoying a lovely sunrise and some nice birds, including one Black Scoter, a Brown Pelican (perhaps the same one Dan Haas had a few days ago) wheeling around a ship in the Bay, and a single Caspian Tern on the beach.
Also had a single small shorebird flying north close in along the beach which I am almost certain was a Red Phalarope - grey on back, angled wings, very slightly drooping black bill. But it was a quick view and I could not reacquire the bird, so I am not counting it (it would be a lifer). Hoping instead one or two will linger into Saturday at Conowingo.
Dan arrived just as I was leaving...
Good Birding!!
