Subject: [MDBirding] Ruby Crowned Kinglets

While hiking at Cromwell Valley Park late Sunday afternoon I spotted several ruby-crowned kinglets...I believe that's a first for me. I must have stood for 10 minutes watching them at close range as they fluttered over small bushes just off the red trail. I wasn't sure what I was seeing until I pulled out my birding book. I was curious because of the red patch on the top of their heads. They were bold and didn't seem to mind me standing there and watching them. At times they were within 10' of me. While watching them I did also spot many other birds including a black and white warbler (which isn't that common for me).
