I second Gail's and Rick's suggestions. Another model that deserves
strong consideration near your price range is the Vortex Diamondback.
But I'd suggest you try before you buy if you can, since different bins
suit different birders better. (For example if you wear glasses, you'll
want to make sure you get bins with enough eye relief.) I'd recommend
spending a bit more than $150 if you can afford it. Most popular
configurations for birders are 8x42, 8x32, 10x42, and 7x42.
