Subject: [MDBirding] Druid Hill Reservoir

Hi All,

Yesterday I took a quick look at the waterfowl assembled on the reservoir in Druid Hill Park. It was quite varied with BUFFLEHEADS and RUDDY DUCKS predominating and smaller groups of HOODED MERGANSERS and AMERICAN COOTS. The best birds seemed to be a pair of LESSER SCAUP floating out in the middle of the reservoir. As I understand it, they are not seen all the frequently in that location, and so I suspect they were travelling elsewhere. In addition to the waterfowl, there were RED-TAILED and SHOULDERED HAWKS present.

Good Birding!

Mike H.
