Kye Jenkins and I had a slow day of birding while hitting several spots around Hagerstown and Frederick. We looked for the shrike in the area where it's been seen in Hagerstown and didn't find it. Best bird there: White-Crowned Sparrow. We had one Lapland Longspur (mixed with horned larks) at the intersection of Oland Road and 85 (or whatever the road is called). Stopped at Lilypons and found nothing worth mentioning, but it was my first time there and certainly looks like a great spot. Ended the day at Mt. Pleasant Farm (Howard County Conservancy), and although it was slow there, we managed 6 sparrow species, including one Fox Sparrow--and enjoyed a pileated woodpecker.
