Update on the Selasphorus being seen at 9500 Thornhill RD, Silver Spring. �It was banded this morning and found to be a young female Rufous hummingbird. �I hosted a different young female Rufous almost exactly two years ago. �The bander, David Holmes, tells me she has no fat on her and so is likely to stick around for awhile. �You are welcome to visit.
Side note: at Seneca Creek State Park last weekend, we had 2 red-breasted nuthatch in pines and 1 Merlin over the lake. �
