Spent yesterday morning on the water between Deal Island and the east side of Smith Island. Despite dense fog, a decent amount of waterfowl were seen. Highlights included a few dozen N. Gannets, some on the water quite close to the boat, a nice close fly-by Brown Pelican, three Horned Grebes quite close to the boat, several hundred Surf Scoters, several dozen Long-tailed Ducks, about a dozen Common Loons, several dozen Bufflehead, along with the usual gulls, etc.
