While participating in the Taylor's Island Count at Christmas (full summary later), Mikey Lutmerding, Bill Hubick, Tom Feild, and John Hubbell found a flock of 15 Red Crossbills on North Point Rd. This is the near the northwest corner of island. The birds were feeding on Sweet Gum and hung around long enough for Jim Brighton, Ron Gutberlet, Rob Ostrowski, and myself to race up from the south end of the island to see them.
There were a lot of birds moving around the bay off Punch Island Rd this morning, including all 3 scoters and a minimum of 45 Brown Pelicans.
