I and I suspect others would appreciate directions to the place(s) at Patuxent where crossbills have been seen, and in fact to getting to and into the Refuge itself. I'm ashamed to admit to not having gone there before with it so close, but so it is - something I do plan to remedy before long! I remember something about sightings at the Visitors Center, but that seems to be south of the North tract--or did they mean the visitor contact center in the North Tract? And just where near Lake Allen and Pine Trail? What are the roads like--paved, gravel, ok after rain?
I glimpsed part of these answers when I glanced at the RSS feed from the Facebook page, which I havent yet decided to fool with (tho since they seem to be having all the fun over there, I may have to, I'm thinking).
Anyway, after all those sightings, it would be a kindness if someone would post some directional details here, for those of us who are just learning some of these great places. Thanks!
