Another late afternoon and evening visit to this location did not present any of the reported short-ears owls. I maintained a prolonged vigil of cruising up and down this stretch of grasslands until the last of the light. Cruising was pretty much a must as the plowed snow on the road edge made pulling off pretty much futile. Not a sign of a Harrier either however, two red-tails were prowling the field along with a Coopers perched in a tree near the creek below the property on Baumgartner road.
Its off to the Eastern Shore on Sunday for me!
