Subject: [MDBirding] Tufted Duck - oh so YES

I found the hen Tufted Duck at the very farthest end of Mears Point Marina. It was so close I could look into its soul (and also see the tuft!!!!) with my tiny Zeiss binoculars. This was the polar opposite of my first viewing, when I was cold and wet and the peek I obtained was mega blurry.

Since I'm posting, I'll also mention a beautiful leucistic Chipping Sparrow seen at Wades Point Inn (off 33 on the way to Tilghman). Perhaps partially leucistic would be more accurate. Most of the bird is snow white, but the eye line and cap and a bit of the wings are the palest rufous shade. The normal CHSPs with whom it was associating appeared to accept their beautiful companion.
