The Howard County Bird Club not only participates in FOUR seasonal bird
counts (Christmas Count, Midwinter Count, May Count, and Fall Count) on
WSSC property (seeking written permission for each count each year) but
members of the club have surveyed the WSSC property for ALL THREE
BREEDING BIRD ATLASES (the prototype Montgomery-Howard atlas in the
1970's and the first and second MD/DC atlases).

The Howard County Bird Club presented the watershed manager, Jim Benton,
with a copy of the second atlas.

In addition, the club has sponsored dragonfly, butterfly, and fungi
surveys and the Maryland amplibian & reptile atlas (MARA) on WSSC property.

So yes, I think it safe to say that the Howard County Bird Club has
invested a lot in WSSC.
