Subject: Re: [MDBirding] Say's Phoebe - more details

It is still there; when I first arrived there was no one else around. I looked here first for 15 min but had no luck so I drove all around looking in nearby locations. Ithen Got some additional advice from Matt, and decided to try and look in the woodlot again, but much more carefully. I parked on Sixes Br Rd and walked north on Keysville Rd, in not cause any issues wit not cause any issues with traffic. It was windy, 100 % overcast, and cold, and bird activity was almost nil. After 30 minutes I heard a call note and was sure it was from a phoebe (single note contact call), and after 10 more minutes found it perched. It was mostly inactive, more or less at far eastern end of woods, about 3/4 way up (north) the woodlot. I saw it fly eventually and it vocalized a few notes of its more familiar song. Distant (about 70-80 yards) but nice view in the bins. It was there when I left at 12:30, and a birder just arrived to look so I got him on it. f you try, have patience!
