Desirous of a taste of spring, I stopped at Hughes Hollow around 10 am.hoping to greet the newly arrived Tree Swallows reported yesterday by Jim Nelson; all eleven were there, swooping low over the large impoundment and looking very handsome indeed. A Wilson's Snipe flushed from deep in the reeds . The continuing Fox Sparrow appeared briefly with a group of Song sparrows. I saw and heard both Carolina and Winter wrens but no sign of the House Wren.
