I made another try for the Eurasian Wigeon at Loch Raven this morning
and found two drakes. I started at the Skeet & Trap Center but there were
almost no birds there, and lots of gunfire. Next I went to Peerce's Cove
where there were a few more birds but no wigeons. Then I parked at the gate
for the old picnic area (just west of Stone Hill Road) and walked out. The
two Eurasian Wigeon were actively feeding in the huge Coot flock laying off
the next peninsula to the west. There were lots of American Wigeon mixed in
here also.
