Subject: [MDBirding] De-extinction of some animals, including birds?

A little off topic but I'm sharing due to the birds on this list. A very interesting idea - there is a movement afoot to "de-extinct" some recently extinct species. Fourteen of the 24 species on the list are birds, including Ivory-billeds, Passenger Pigeon, Carolina Parakeet, and others. The idea is that there is access to good-quality DNA since these species haven't been gone that long. I would love to see this happen but I am sure there major scientific hurdles to get over. Seems plausible, though!
