DORCHESTER MAY BIRD COUNT, Sat., May 11 (& May 5).

Youre invited.

For several decades, starting in 1966, Ive been hogging the glory areas because for most of that time I was either the only one doing the count, or else it was just me and a friend or 2 in my car. Seniority, tradition, right?

Having done the long, glory road route 90 times, usually including an all-nighter, I am hoping to have folks, comprising 2 separate parties, with a good skill set, relieve me of Blackwater N.W.R. and Hoopers Island. All that driving has gotten to me.

If so, I still plan to do the all-nighter but spend the entire day in the Elliott Island area. If not Ill continue to do all 3 areas, with more coffee than usual.

Those who have done areas in previous years will have first dibs on them again.

Please let me know if you can help out in Marylands largest (I think) county with often the near smallest number of participants even if just for part of the day.

May 4, Sat., is not an official count but gets done anyway. All are welcome to do that one, too.

Thanks. Harry Armistead, Philadelphia. 215-248-4120.
