But then it should have been counted�as *either* a Franklin's or Black-headed Gull. One doesn't just throw away data.

� �Dave Smith found an immature Franklin's Gull near Burkittsville on the May Count, May 8, 1999. Unfortunately it was not accepted by the records committee on a split vote because some members felt the photos and notes did not eliminate Black-headed Gull.
