I noticed a picture on flickr from a contact of a Black-crowned Night Heron at Wilde Lake in Columbia. It seems that yesterday there were four there. I went today and found a very tame bird at the far end of the lake. A good place if you want to observe them.

I got a fanciful notion the rain might bring salamanders out....I did find fifty or so but all under things. Walked the streams in the rain with an umbrella. A trio of Wood Ducks also.....
